Bayer – Rigifoam Conclude Strategic Partnership Agreement
Rigifoam, South Africa’s leading manufacturer and supplier of profiled polyurethane foam insulation sections and formulated systems with manufacturing facilities in Benoni and Port Elizabeth have recently concluded a strategic partnership agreement at their offices in Johannesburg, with Bayer Material Science of Leverkusen Germany, the global leader in polyurethane raw materials and systems. “This agreement gives us direct access to Bayer’s vast polyurethane technology resources in Leverkusen which together with our recent R1,2 million investment in Laboratory equipment will significantly strengthen our in-house product development capabilities and strategic market growth plans for polyurethane foam in South Africa, the agreement includes the supply of raw materials, giving our customers confidence in a continued supply” says Duncan Goldsmith of Rigifoam. With excellent insulation properties and its ability to be profile cut and foamed insitu rigid polyurethane foam finds applications in a diverse range of industries such as construction, Petrochemical, Transport, Commercial and Domestic Refrigeration. Rigifoam has invested in a plant that enables them to manufacture polyurethane foam using blowing agents with a zero Ozone Depleting Potential (ODP), making them the only supplier to comply with the Montreal Protocol on Ozone Depleting Substances as it applies to developed counties such as the USA and members of the EU.
